Welcome to Nashville , Tennessee - the "Music City".
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and the second largest city in Tennessee, after Memphis.
The town of Nashville was founded by James Robertson, John Donelson and a party of Overmountain Men in 1779 and was named for Francis Nash, the American Revolutionary Warhero.
Nashville's first skyscraper, the Life & Casualty Tower, was completed in 1957. After the construction of the AT&R Building (commonly known to locals as the "Batman Building") in 1994 the downtown area saw little construction until the mid-2000's. A new high rise office building, The Pinnacle, was recently opened in 2010.

The Broadway and 2nd Avenue areas feature entertainment venues, night clubs and an assortment of restaurants.

Ryman Auditorium (formerly Grand Ole Opry House and Union Gospel Tabernacle) is a 2.362-seat live performance venue. You can even record your favorite song.
When the Grand Ole Opry House opened in 1974, a circle approx. five feet in diameter was removed from the Ryman stage's original fllor and inlaid into the stage fllor in the new Opry House where it remains today behind the lead singer's microphone.
The Nissan Stadium, seating capacity of 69.143, is a multi-purpose stadium in Nashville, primarily used for football and is the home of the Tennessee Titans of the NFL. Since opening in 1999 it has been known by multiple names (Adelphia Clisuem 1999-2002, The Coliseum 2002-2006 and LP Field from 2006 until today.
Nashville is located on the Cumberland River in the north-central part of Tennessee.
Athens of the South is another nickname of Nashville. Home to twenty-four post-secondary educational institutions, Nashville has long been compared to the ancient city of learning, site of Plato's Academy.
Since 1897, a full-scale replica of the Athenian parthenon has stood in Nashville and many examples of classical and neoclassical architecture can be found in the city.
By 1800, the city had 345 residents, including 136 African American slaves and 14 free blacks.
The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge (previously called the Shelby Street Bridge) is a truss bridge and was originally opened on July 5, 1909. On August 3, 2003 it was reopened as one of the longest  pedestrian bridges in the world (3.150 ft, 960m). 
Nashville quickly grew because of its strategic location, accessibility as a port on the Cumberland River, a tributary of the Ohio-River - and its later status a a major railroad center.

Lower Braodway consists of Braodway between First and Fifth avenues. Its features include various honky tonk bars, including Robert's Western World, The Stage, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge - just to mention a few.
Harley-Davidson Inc., a American motorcycle manufacturer was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1903. 
From April to September hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts descend on Downtown every Wednesday night to be able to park on Broadway.

The Stage on Broadway is a little bit Texas and a whole lotta Nashville.

In a city full of legends, the Union Station Hotel reigns supreme.

As a hotel the Union Station opened officially in December 1986, re-dedicated on October 9, 2007 after an $11 million renovation.
Long before it was a historic hotel, Nashville TN Union Station was a key center in America's economy and culture. Opening on October 9, 1900, the building's imposing Gothic design - featuring lofty turrets and towers - was a testament to US ingenuity and energy.
During railroading's glory years, the station saw characters such as movie starlet Mae West and Mafia kingpin Al Capone - who was escorted through here on his way to Giorgia penitentiary.
The vision of the Frist Center is to inspire people through art to look at their world in new ways.
